Skehan & Associates is looking forward to continuing to make ourselves a valuable resource for our manufacturer vendors and distributor customers with our extensive product selection and our experienced and knowledgeable employees.
OUR STORY
Skehan & Associates is a multi-person independent group dedicated to representing manufacturers to the wholesale trade in the floorcovering, ceramic tile and wood flooring industries. We have been in continuous existence since January 1986, when David Skehan left the Durabond Division of U.S. Gypsum Corporation to create the current sales agency.
Over the years, at the request of our vendors, we have grown substantially in all aspects. We now consist of three (3) salespeople and cover the eastern 40% of the country. If one looks at a map, S&A would service everything from Maine to Florida and west approximately to the Mississippi River.
Operating in a manner as close as possible to that of a company employee, while keeping within the boundaries established by the Internal Revenue Service’s definition of Independent Contractor, S&A Regional Managers seek to create, maintain and develop sales opportunities for our vendors through aggressive attention to a wide range of customers. Service before, during and after the sale is our forte. Pursuant to the guidelines established by our manufacturer partners, S&A customers may include any or all of the following.
1) Distributors - Owners, Managers, Buyers, Inside & Outside Sales Staff, Counter and Warehouse Staff.
2) End-Users - Floorcovering Contractors, Independent Installers, Property Owners, etc.
3) Intermediaries - Retailers, General Contractors, Property Managers, Architects, Specifiers, Trade Associations, Buying Groups, etc.
